DEAR FRIEND:
YOUR LETTER ADDRESSED TO THE LOUISVILLE CEMENT CORP. HAS BEEN GIVEN TO ME FOR REPLY. WE ARE GLAD TO KNOW THAT YOU STILL REMEMBER PLEASANTLY YOUR PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT AT THE MILLTOWN AND SPEED PLANTS, AND THAT YOU ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO RENEWING THAT RELATIONSHIP AT THE CLOSE OF THE WAR. WE HERE ALL HOPE THAT IT WILL NOT BE TOO LONG UNTIL THAT GREAT DAY WHEN THE WAR WILL BE OVER AND ALL OF OUR FRIENDS CAN BE HOME AGAIN.
ENCLOSED IS A COPY OF THE SPEEDOMETER ISSUED LAST WEEK; IN IT YOU WILL NOTICE WE HAVE PASSED THE WORD OF YOUR LETTER ON TO OUR OTHER EMPLOYEES HERE AT SPEED. WE WILL BE GLAD TO HEAR FROM YOU AGAIN AT ANY TIME YOU WANT TO WRITE.
SINCERELY,
JESSE G. DORSEY
JGD:LD
