DEAR NORMAN,
YOUR VERY NICE LETTER CAME LAST WEEK AND I WAS VERY GLAD TO HEAR FROM YOU AND TO KNOW THAT YOU ENJOYED YOUR VISIT AT SPEED. YOUR LITTLE DRAWINGS ON THE LETTER WERE SWELL. LAST SATURDAY NIGHT AT OUR PARTY I PASSED IT AROUND AT THE TABLE SO ALL OF THE GIRLS COULD SEE IT. I HAVE ALSO SHOWN IT TO A NUMBER OF MY FRIENDS HERE AT SPEED.
I REMEMBER QUITE WELL YOU SAID WHEN YOU WERE HERE THAT CARTOONING WAS YOUR HOBBY, BUT THE WORK ON MY LETTER WOULD APPEAR TO BE THAT OF A PROFESSIONAL RATHER THAN AN AMATEUR. I AM SORRY WE DID NOT HAVE YOU GIVE US A DEMONSTRATION OF YOUR WORK THAT WEEKEND YOU WERE HERE. I AM GOING TO FRAME YOUR ELTTER AND HANG IT HERE IN THE COMMUNITY HOUSE, EVEN THOUGH IT IS RATHER SADLY CREASED BY THIS TIME. I WAS PARTICULARLY INTERESTED IN YOUR USE OF BOTH INK AND CRAYON IN THE CREATION OF YOUR LITTLE FIGURES.
ENCLOSED THE PICTURES YOU WANTED; I HOPE THEY ARE THE RIGHT ONES.
IF YOU ARE IN THIS PART OF THE COUNTRY AGAIN, I HOPE YOU WILL STOP AND SEE US.
SINCERELY,
JESSE G. DORSEY

ENCLS.
