DEAR DOUG:
WHEN I PLANNED THE LITTLE BOOK OF PICTURES FOR A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR YOU SERVICE MEN I ARRANGED TO HAVE ONE BLANK PAGE IN THE BACK ON WHICH TO PASTE A FAMILY PICTURE, AND ASKED THE PARENTS TO FURNISH THE PICTURE
FOR THIS PAGE.
YOUR MOTHER BROUGHT US THREE PICTURES TO PUT IN YOUR BOOK, THEN WHEN WE MAILED IT WE FORGOT TO PASTE THEM IN. YOU WILL FIND THEM ENCLOSED WITH THIS NOTE. I AM SORRY WE FAILED TO SEND THEM WITH THE BOOK, BUT MAYBE YOU CAN FIND SOME PASTE SOMEWHERE AND PUT THEM IN YOURSELF.
I HOPE YOU LIKE THE WORK YOU ARE DOING IN SCHOOL AND THAT YOU WILL GET ALONG FINE. WRITE ME WHEN YOU CAN.
YOUR FRIEND,
JESSE G. DORSEY
