DEAR BILL:
LAST SATURDAY AFTER YOU RETURNED TO FT. KNOX, DR. WECHTER BROUGHT ME THE $5.00 YOU HAD LEFT WITH HIM TO BE USED FOR OUR ENTERTAINMENT FUND. I DO APPRECIATE YOUR GENEROSITY AND WANT TO THANK YOU FOR THE GIFT. HOWEVER, I WAS VERY RELUCTANT TO ACCEPT IT AS I DO NOT THINK IT IS RIGHT TO ASK YOU OUT AS OUR GUEST AND THEN ACCEPT THIS MONEY.
ENCLOSED IS A COPY OF OUR LITTLE PAPER, THE SPEEDOMETER; IN IT YOU WILL FIND A STORY ABOUT YOUR GROUP BEING GUESTS IN OUR COMMUNITY, AND AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF YOUR GIFT.
SINCE YOU ARE TO BE AT FR. KNOX FOR SOME TIME, I HOPE YOU WILL COME OUT AGAIN. THE NEXT PARTY WILL BE ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 13-14. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO COME OUT, BRING SOME OF YOUR FRIENDS WITH YOU. BE SURE, HOWEVER, TO GO TO THE USO AT THE Y. M. C. A. AND GET YOUR NAME ON THE LIST SO THAT THEY WILL NOT SEND US TOO MANY BOYS.
SINCERELY,
JESSE G. DORSEY
