Town Requests Sewer Ban Be Lifted

Search Process Begins for
Superintendent
The Eastern Howard School Board
has established a process aimed at
hiring a superintendent for the school
' After Dr. Bush's presentation, Board
President, Bill Heck, presented a draft
of a brochure which would be sent by

announced on January 9 that he will be
retiring effective July 3 1, 200 1.
The Board heard a presentation by
Dr. Frank Bush, Executive Director of
the Indiana School Board Association,
at their regular meeting February 13.
Dr. Bush told the Board that finding a
superintendent is a challenging and
difficult job but not an impossible one.
He said that based on data maintained
by the ISBA, the Board can expect 7-
12 applicants. He anticipates that the
process will take about 90 days, 45
days to receive applications and 45
days for screening, interviewing, site
visits, and the writing of a contract. He
said there are consultant teams from
universities which will assist at no
charge if the Board wishes to use them.
Consultant firms are also an option.
Dr. Bush recommended public input

must work together as a team, that total
agreement on all issues is not
necessary, but compromise or

3: 30 p. m. at the Jr. JSr. High School to
meet with the staff; and agajn during
the regular Board meeting on March
13. The Board also approved a bulk
mailing to all households in the school
district with information on the meeting
dates a d a form to mail in if that is
more convenient.
