Annexation
Approved
New Medical Clinic Will Be In
Town Limits
Approximately five acres at 7 12 W.
Main Street will be annexed into the
Town of Greentown. This is the
location of the proposed St. Joseph
Greentown Family Physicians building.
The building will have offices for two
physicians, Dr. Ken Ridgeway being
one. It will also have laboratory, X-Ray
and pharmacy. Site preparation
has begun, with completion planned for
late summer.
The Greentown Town Council
approved the annexation ordinance on
February 2, 2002. It will be in effect
March 18. Council president, James
Harris, said the Town is very happy to
have the facility coming to Greentown.
Although the fown is under a ban from
IDEM preventing the addition of new
sewer hook- ups, IDEM granted a
waiver for this site.
Well head Protection Plan
Proceeding
The town is in a continuing process
of developing and maintaining a
wellhead protection plan. Mandated by
state and federal agencies, this process
identifies the areas in which
contamination of the town's water
source might be a problem. Once
identified, certain types of development
would be controlled in those areas.
Police and Water
Departments to Get New
Computers
Responding to a request from the
Greentown Police Dept., the Council
approved the purchase of a new
computer system for the department. It
includes a main frame and three work
stations. After reviewing costs of
Gateway, Dell and Tangent brands,
Tangent was selected at a cost of
$ 4,242.95. The Council also approved
a request from the Water & Street Dept.
for a Dell computer at a cost of
$ 1,239.00.
Public Hearing Scheduled
A public hearing on the request for
annexation of property at 729 West
Main is scheduled for April 2,2002, at
7: OO p. m. in the town meeting room.
