Eastern Jr/ Sr High School offers two
types of fitness for members of the
community.
Community Walking
Hours
The high school will be open for
indoor walking on the following
daydtimes beginning Monday,
November 10:
6: 30 to 7: 30 a. m. Monday - Friday
4: OO to 5: 30 p. m. Monday - Thursday
Participants should enter the
Administrative Oflice entrance or the
pool entrance. Walking maps will be
available in the Main Ofice.
Fitness Center Hours
The fitness center will be open on the
following dayshimes for students and
adult members:
Monday- Thursday: 3: I5 p. m.- 6: 00 p. m.
for students
Monday- Thursday: 6: 00 p. m.- 9: 00 p. m.
for adult members
Friday: 3: 15 p. m. - 6: OO p. m.
for students and adult members
Saturday: 9: OO a. m. - 12: OO p. m.
for students and adult members.
Use of the fitness center is limited to
residents within the school district.
The charge is $ 25 per person per tri-mester.

Water Project Progressing
Greentown’s new 300,000 gal. water
tower, on the southeast side of town,
was completed October 3 1, in just four
weeks. The tower was fabricated and
built by Phoenix Fabricators and
Erectors, Inc., of Avon, Ind. Painting
of the interior is expected to begin
soon. The exterior will be painted a
color similar to the present tower on
North Maple Street. That tower has a
100,000 gal. capacity. Both towers will
be used.
Upgrades to the water treatment and
pumping plant on North Maple Street
include reworkingan existing iron filter
and adding another iron filter. Two
new 600 gallon- per- minute high-service
pumps will replace two smaller
ones. Laying of new water mains is
about 75% complete. Most of the
remaining mains to be done are north
of the railroad tracks. Grading and
seeding of lawn areas, and application
of base asphalt are being done in
places. Hook- ups from the new mains
to existing sgrvice lines are also
partially done. Water superintendent,
Kevin Moss, states that sidewalks
cannot be replaced until hook- ups are
done.
The complete project, costing
approximately $ 2 million, will increase
the amount of water available to
Greentown, improve water pressure in
some areas, and relieve the ongoing
problem of broken water mains.
