Mrs. Walter Wooters, son Clinton and Ralph Fawcett attended church Sunday evening at the Hillsdale Church, northwest of town. Miss Martel Elmore of Dunkirk, spent the forepart of the week at the home of her aunt, Mrs. John Cuthrell and husband, east of town. Rev. Omer McCoy was called to Shelby County Saturday, where he conducted the funeral of the aged Baptist Minister, Rev. Jay Randolph. Jesse Davis, wife and grandson of Kokomo, Richard Lee, wife and little daughter Helen, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mart Kingery near Jerome. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cole of Richmond, and the former’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Henry Cole of Kokomo, were Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cole. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Street and daughter Jeanette, attended a birthday dinner in Monument City, Sunday given for Mrs. Victor Zirkle, a cousin of Mr. Street. Mrs. Calla Vandenbark and grand daughter Lillian had as guests Saturday, Mrs. John Brown of near Gas City, Mrs. Charles Dawson and Mrs. Francis Murphy. Miss Fannie Ray of Sims, Glen Busick of Battleground, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Moss of Sycamore were Friday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Mast. Garah Woods, wife and son of Kokomo, and Dr. Donald Woods and Miss Blanche Bryant of Swayzee, were Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Woods. Hildred Sigerfoose, who has been visiting her grandparents, returned home with her parents on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Eli Courtney entertained a company of relatives at their home on East Grant street from Thursday until Sunday. They were Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Nungaster and daughter Betty Jane; Mrs. Lillie Stull; Julian Courtney and Miss Bessie Anderson, all of Lima, O. Otis Keith and Russell Hershberger of the Ford Motor Company made a business trip to Indianapolis, Monday. Ross Locke who has a position on the advertising force of a Wabash newspaper, spent Sunday here with his wife and daughter. Emery Dudley and family returned home Sunday from a three days’ visit with his brother Olan Dudley and family, near Greentown. Mrs. Della Haworth and daughter Mary of Kokomo, and Miss Louise Scott were dinner guests Friday of Elijah Haworth, wife and daughter. Masters Marvin and Darwin Curless have gone to Wabash where they will visit their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Curless for and indefinite time. Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Singer and children of Sharpsville, spent Tuesday night and Wednesday with Mrs. Singer’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Williams. J. M. Petro and wife went to Peru, Sunday, to take home the little two-year-old granddaughter Bonnie Evelyn, who had been here for a three days’ visit. Mr. and Mrs. Andy Kilgore and children and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hofford of Rigdon, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Butler at their home on East Grant street. Rev. Jess Fox of Taylor University and W. E. Fox of Amboy, and Mrs. Frank Null and children from southern Indiana, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Fox. Miss Mary Cole, who suffered an attack of appendicitis, last Monday, is very much improved and expects to return here the latter part of the week, from her parent’s home at Windfall. Charles Roush and son Edward, spent Sunday in Marion with the former’s wife and daughter Martha, the latter who was recently operated upon at the Marion hospital. On Sunday, Martha was very much improved. Mr. and Mrs. Ogden Symons and son Lowell entertained at a bountiful dinner Sunday a number of relatives. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Symons, southeat of Greentown, and is well fitted for her new duties. The groom is a son of Charles Armstrong of Nowata, Okla. He is a graduate of Elwood High School and for the past three years he has been teaching in Grant County. After June 16, Mr. And Mrs. Armstrong will be at home to their friends at 2304 South Jefferson street in Muncie, where Mr. Armstrong is attending school at the State Normal. _________________________ I. O. O. F. AND REBEKAH DECORATION SERVICES The annual Decoration Day of the I. O. O. F. and Rebekah lodges will hold their services on next Sunday, June 8. If weather permits, the service will be conducted in the I. O. O. F. cemetery west of town, but if not, they will be held in the I. O. O. F. building. All members are requested to meet in the hall at 2:00 o’clock. _________________________ LADIES’ AID MEETS. The Ladies Aid of the Main Street Christian Church were entertained at the home of Mrs. Charles Bogue, Tuesday. While good work was being accomplished by the ladies, the hostesses and daughters were preparing an elaborate dinner. Those present were Anna Miller, Amanda Fleming, Mrs. Olga Osborn, Earnest Fleming, Arvila Linville and daughter Mildred, Mrs. Clyde Hunsinger and daughter Lois, Mrs. Paul Duncan and son Garlson, Mrs. Lloyd Miller and daughters Annabelle and Gretchen, Edith Hofferbert, Mrs. Orla Smith, Mrs. Chas. Ware, Florence Bell and Jewell Quick. ____________________________ WILL ASSIST AT FUNERAL Rev. Omer McCoy will assist the Rev. Smith at Windfall, Thursday in conducting the funeral of Mrs. Mary Stack, age 77 years, who passed away at her home near Windfall. Mrs. Stack with her husband, had resided on this farm all of her married life, of fifty-six years. ____________________________ RESEARCH CLUB The June meeting of the Research Club will meet on Thursday, June 12, at the home of Mrs. Clarence Manring on East Main street.
