Celebrating Our 13th Year! Volume 13, Issue 12 Annexation reques Growth to be heard on the H o rizo n The new Family Dollar store opened its doors November 30. In addition to this new buriness, Greentown may experience more growth in the future. Town Council Pres id en t , James Harris informed the members of the Council at their November regular meeting that he was approached by a company out of Kalamazoo, Michigan that may want to open a store on the east side town. He explained the business would be similar to a Dollar General store. Two days ‘ later, he was contacted by a gentleman from Sheridan who expressed interest in part of the “ Reed property”, a parcel on 2 I3 and highway 35. This particular area is annexed residential and would require rezoning to B1 or 132 for a restaurant and strip mall, if plans proceed. Harris said Greentown could see more proposals for annexation once the sewer ban with IDEM is lifted. The Town Council wil consider a request by Designec Structures, Inc. of Sheridan Ind. for annexation of thc property at 104 S. Maple St ( SE corner of the intersectioi of US 35 and SR 213) on Dec 12 at 7: OO.
