Craig Lechlitner concentrates on maneuvering around the stakes
in the 4- H Lawn & Garden Safety contest, held Saturday, June 30,
as a pre- fair activity. The competition included a written test, parts
identification, and driving. The driving part of the competition
included a safety check, driving a serpentine course with a 3”
clearance, backing, and stopping to get off and on the tractor.

Patrons of the Lions Cafeteria at the Howard County 4- H Fair,
July 9- 14, will notice improvements to the building. Two sewing
lines will shorten wait time during peak hours. There are also new
tables and chairs and newly painted and counter fronts. A new
concrete floor has also been installed. There have also been Some
changes to the menu.

Market

The Greentown Main Street
Association has announced
dates and times for this year’s
“ Farmers Market”. As in the
past years, the Farmers Market
will be held on South Green
Street. Hours are 8 A. M. until
Noon. The first Farmers
Market will be on July 7th and
then every other Saturday. The
other Farmers Market dates are
as follows: Jul 21, Aug 4th,
Aug 18, Sep 1st and Sep 15
( last Market).
All , non- profit groups are
invited to participate to . raise
funds for their organization.
Vendors of produce, crafts, and
Greentown Donates for Bomb Dog
Greentown Town Council President Joyce Higginbottom presented Sheriff Marty Talbert
with a donation of $ 500 from the town toward the purchase of a Bomb Dog. for Howard
County. Sheriff Talbert said the total cost of the dog will be $ 1 1,000.. The fund had $ 5,000
at the time of receipt of the check from Greentown.
