Business Assoc. Elects
At their annual meeting, held The next meeting of the

Greentown residents now living
in Evansville. The DeShaneys
were given a certificate
recognizing the service they
had given the community during
their time here. They were also
presented with a gift of
Greentown glass, an amber
Dewey serpentine tray.
Introduced were owners of
businesses soon to be open in
Greentown, Bob and Becky
Jarrett of Coach’s Corner The building which houses the

After several days of snowfdl and winds which caused delays and cancellstions of school
and other meetings, January 14 provided warming temperatures which melted the good
quantity of snow enough to make it ideal for packing.
Bobby and Sally Duke, 332 N. Washington St., Greentown, enjoyed making replicas of
themselves and their cat, Leo. The Dukes used scarves, mittens, hats, belt, curtain
valance and a brooch to dress Mr. and Mrs. Snowman. Facial features were added with
buttons, sticks and carrot noses.

Legion has owned the upper
story of the building since the
1940’ s and has used it as
meeting room and club room. A
major remodeling of the upstairs
was done in 1975.
The plan of the new ground
floor location will place the club
room at the front of the building
and a meeting room to the rear.
The exterior will be an off- white
dry- vit, similar in appearanceto
the City Building. The accent
color will be grey. New windows
w i l l also mirror the design of
those in the City Building.
The Post consists of about 200
members. The b u i l d i n g
committee is Gene Kingery, Stan
Johnson, Ron George, Clyde
Ragan, Roger Wolfe, and Ron
Kingery. Johnson stated that
t h e y a c k n o w l e d g e t h e
inconvenience to some,
including the temporary loss of
some parking spaces, during the
renovation and appreciate
everyone’s understanding.
Architect for the project is
Wesley Welsh of Wabash. General
Contractors are Gaunt & Son,
also of Wabash. Completion is
scheduled for June 1,19%.
