Sandra S. Baker

CULVER—Sandra S. Baker, age 76 of Culver, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in the Parkview Randellia in Fort Wayne, Indiana with her loving family by her side.
Sandra was born in LaPorte County, Indiana on September 5, 1940 to Clem and Florence (Zolman) Ardt. She was a graduate of the Rolling Prairie high school. Sandra became the bride of Richard O. Baker on September 24, 1960 in a ceremony in Rolling Prairie, he preceded her in passing on December 5, 1992. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting and reading. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She retired from Culver Military Academy as an accounts payable clerk.
Sandra is survived by her sons, Mark (Stephanie) Baker of Ft. Wayne, and Eugene (Jamye) Baker of Plymouth; Sandra was blessed with 4 grandchildren, Alina Baker, Clarissa Baker, Alexandria Baker and Hanna Plummer; and her great-grandchild, Camden Baker; also surviving is Sandra’s brother, Butch (Barb) Arndt of New Carlisle; Sandra is preceded in passing by her parents, husband, Richard O. Baker, and her daughter, Brenda.
The Van Gilder Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Baker family. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Monday, May 15, 2017 in the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563. Burial will follow the service in the Rolling Prairie Cemetery at 4:00 p.m. EST.
A time of visiting with the Baker family will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 in the Van Gilder Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. EST
The baker family requests memorial contributions in Sandra’s name be given to the Culver VFW, 108 E. Washington Street Culver, Indiana 46511.
