"Miss Anderson", a swallow-type biplane, was the first plane manufactured by the Anderson Aircraft Company after Orin Welch became owner in 1928. In addition to airplane manufacture, Welch owned the Welch Field and an aviation school.
A nine-hole golf course was added to Idlewold Park near Pendleton, Indiana in 1921 and in 1928 the back nine holes were added. The golf course and park became the Idlewold Golf and Country Club around 1946. The original clubhouse burned in 1952.
