The Alexandria M. E. Church (now First United Methodist Church of Alexandria) dedicated this building in September of 1902. The next year it was gutted by fire and had to be restored.

Built in 1899 for the First Congregational Church, this building was purchased in 1909 by the Alexandria Baptists and was home to the First Baptist Church of Alexandria until 1992, when the church moved to its new building on State Road 9.
