Hazelwood School was bult in 1892 and was located on Madison Avenue at Twenty-Third Street. The building was later demolished and a second Hazelwood School was built on the same location. That building still stands and is a church.
This multi-level building at 304 West 11th Street replaced the elegant mansion that was the YWCA's first home. It was dedicated on April 24, 1960. In 2007, the building was sold to a local church.
Lincoln Oil Refining Company was located on the southeast corner of Ninth Street and Central in Anderson. St. Mary's church spire can be seen in the distance. Today a state office building occupies this site.
