Bass Lake Park was located right on the lake at the south end of Bass Lake. It was built by Harry Rannells and featured a carousel, ferris wheel, shooting gallery, cafe and water slide. Later it became Brydon's Beach.

The original Bass Lake Hotel was located on the lake's west side just north of 500 South. It was owned by Harry Rannells. At that time, around 1890, a road did not exist in that area so rather than arriving in a taxicab, guests arrived by boat.
