Description |
During her lifetime, only best friends or those with a wounded bird or unusual specimen of nature were truly welcomed at the cabin. Being a busy author, researching, doing her camera work in the field, writing, then working on proofs drained Gene's energy. With the opening of the home by the Prices, fans of Gene Stratton-Porter were able to see the home she wrote so lovingly about. The front of the house faces the north with the porch continuing around to the east. The sidewalks were laid of soapstone and have been well maintained. Visitors can walk on them today. |
