Description	This is an item of personal correspondence between Gene Stratton-Porter and the Heller's. Mr Heller was partner then owner of the Decatur Democrat newspaper and a shirt-tail relative of Charles Porter. This letter of thanks was in response to a book review he had apparently written and then published. (20091087-6-large). Charles Hart reports that the Porters showed gratitude for those who assisted Gene in her career, and never forgot kindness done. (20091086-large). This thank you was sent the same day this article appeared in the newspaper.

Notes	In 1910 Gene did some work for the International Biblical Encyclopaedia for which she was commended by Dr. Orr of Glasgow. The Lou (Lew) refers to Lou Effingham the former owner of the Decatur Democrat. Very active in the Democratic party, he ran for and secured the office Secretary of State of Indiana from 1910 to 1914. He then purchased the Fort Wayne Gazette.
