Description	The first bridge about which we have information was built in 1851. It was a wooden structure and a toll of ten cents was charged to cross it. Beginning in 1910 a bridge was removed from this site, probably the 1851 bridge, and the bridge pictured here was built. It was made of steel by the Fort Pitt Steel Company. It was thirteen feet wider than the previous bridge and it had a 25-foot driveway and a four-foot-wide walkway on each side. It was installed on the concrete masonry by way of a steam hoist derrick. This bridge was taken down in 1976 and a continuous steel beam structure with steel-railed pedestrian walks on each side was erected.
